  1. Mary Wagner

I ordered these to cover my plants during the Japanesse Beetle season. We are near a conservation area and hit very hard by these pests. I thought this would be a good way to keep them off my plants. Worked great!

  2. jake bones

I used this to make a large tent over my pond to keep the leaves off. It works very well and is pretty tough stuff.

  3. Kindle Customer

Works better than I thought possible ! Has kept the rabbits and chipmunks out of my garden …easy to use . I pinned the corners and edges down with garden pens and it stays in place even with our high winds. I water directly through it with no problem. I’ve already ordered more for my summer garden. And one of the benefits I didn’t expect is that my vegs covered have grown twice as fast as those uncovered ! I’m not sure how that happened but it did!

  4. Dawn Woodruff

I received this yesterday and immediately used it to cover my leaf and root bed that was getting attacked by animals. It’s so lightweight that I just laid it over the plants. It was just what I’m looking for at a great price!!!

  5. anakonda

Very nice so far! Great price, sturdy. Can water plants through it. No need to remove. 🙂

  6. Helen D. Setterfield

fantastic stuff. Make sure you order twice the width of your planter (or plantings) if you are using the pvc arches. Plenty of sunlight gets in. They are sort of like very light and flexible window screens. No more “protein” (think worms) in the broccoli! Very re-usable, easy to fold and store when you need to. Easy to cut to size and even the little leftover pieces can be used to shelter new seedlings from birds and such.

  7. Jessica F.

Perfect for my garden. I haven’t set up a dome yet, but laying this over my tomato plants doesn’t hurt them and it keeps those birds away!

  8. McLaren

The one I received was short on both length and width, not by much but it made a big difference to what I needed it for and had to return it.

  9. Reviewer24601

I purchased two of these 8×10 pieces of AgFabric to make an aviary cover for the summertime. I wanted something strong that wouldn’t snag like mosquito netting. When I opened the first package, I was delighted–it was think and strong, exactly what I was looking for. The second piece came packaged differently and when I opened it, I noticed right away that it wasn’t the same quality as the first. The strands were about half the thickness of the first one, the edges weren’t hemmed to prevent fraying, and there were several runs. I guess if you’re just looking for something to throw over your garden and last one season you wouldn’t care about that. I would have been happy if both pieces were of the same quality as the first, but for my purposes, this won’t work.

  10. W S

this is a wonderful product i sewed (using zig-zag stitch and folding over and sewing again to reinforce) the 2 pieces 10×30′ together to make a piece 20×30′ installed over high-rise super hoops from gardeners supply

  11. Renee

I actually used this material rather than mosquito netting to enclose my patio. More cost effective and the mesh is tighter and easy to work with. I have received so many compliments on it.

  12. Lynne A. Babbitt

Great netting! You can see the plants through it and I didn’t have to remove to water.

  13. ColdCountry

I use this to cover a garden/pond area that is right under a cottonwood tree in the spring. Saves me what would be a very long & tedious cleanup while still providing light to my perennials. I will use in the fall, as well, when the leaves fall. My only wish is that it came on a roller mechanism so I could roll it up when not in use and leave it up all year. I plan on creating my own with PVC pipe.

  14. Elisabeth Bedgood

This is TOTALLY AWESOME!! I bought it to enclose my patio for my apartment to keep the bugs out. My dog loves to hang out on the balcony and I was tired of all the bugs. This allowed me to cover the opening from top to bottom of my balcony with room to spare for an affordable price. All I needed was a staple gun!!

  15. h

I bought some bird-x netting last year and put it out over my berries. I was absolutely horrified to find a bird caught in it, and decided at that point I’d rather loose my fruit than hurt any birds, so I threw it all away. I was happy to find this product because the holes are so small that there’s no way a bird could get caught in the net. I suppose it might get trapped under it, but you just have to check for that. The net is stiff and tightly woven. It arrived in a large zip lock bag neatly folded. The two long edges are selvages and do not fray. The cut ends had some fraying but it seemed minimal, and could be easily fixed with a sewing machine. The only thing I did not think about is, that the netting is so small that insects can’t get in to pollinate, so it isn’t good for berries that require bee pollination.

  16. CommonSlob

Kept the squash bores off of my squash until they got big enough to survive them.

  17. Lisa Oneal

For the price, you can’t really complain. Yes, the edges are raw and this material will snag. But I needed 10’x10′ screen for my patio and anywhere else, it would have cost me much more and I would have had to piece things together. I used white duct tape on the edges and up it went with a staple gun! Love it. Also, the fabric is slightly iridescent so it looks much nicer than the black or grey stuff at home depot.

  18. Harvey C.

Keeps the unwanted pests out, just wish there was a secret way to let the pollinators in. Perfect for keeping the chickens out of the garden until the plants are big enough for the chickens to leave them alone! Price was affordable too!

  19. Tom

Good netting but easily catches and snags when applying over bushes for bird protection. Still it worked for one season. Now I have to dispose of it as it was terrible after removing from the plant.

  20. Elizabeth

Used this as a screen for my patio, it’s so big i had no problem covering the entire area!! Definitely does it’s job, I just wish it was a little less visible. It feels like it’s made of plastic, and if there’s indentions created, they’re going to be visable.

  21. yothsothgoth

No more worms eating my kale! Really helpful product for a gardener. Product is very easy to use. A bit of unraveled thread from the manufacturer’s cutting, but it in itself isn’t unraveling. I gave it 4 stars because of the amount of unraveled thread, but more so because the actual threads in the middle of the net move too easily and aren’t fixed – which can allow some insects inside the netting. I have only used it for a few months and will make edits if anything changes. Otherwise, good product for the price.

  22. Angeb

It protected my tomato garden. It was too much of a barrier for my eggplants. I only grew one this year. Next year, I plan on using it when the majority of vegetables/fruits began to form.

  23. GardenLady

Received this product very quickly and was eager to try it out. We have had an infestation of cabbage loopers that devastated the cabbage and other plants in the garden. The material is good as well as the mesh – small enough to keep out leaf hoppers. The problem was the raw edges where the material had been cut. They were unraveling at an alarming rate. Fortunately I have a sewing machine and was able to bind the raw edges. It was easy to do, but time consuming. I think the product will work well, but I had to fix the unraveling before I could use it. I will not buy this product again – I need a large amount as we have a large garden to cover. I don’t want to spend a lot of time binding the raw edges…

  24. Rllenas

I bought this netting to place around my small vegetable garden to keep out bugs and little critters. There was plenty that I was able to cut and place around two areas. The previous year I could not find mosquito netting in stores you would assume would have it, so I bought white lace fabric from a fabric store. It worked but this year I really wanted to get something that was made for insects! I couldn’t believe how hard it was to find netting in the big name stores. I will be ordering this again.

  25. Tai Chi Daoist

I purchased this in 2016 to cover my brassicas so the blasted cabbage moths would not get in and eat them. Absolutely wonderful item. Held up during a hot, dry summer and didn’t fall apart like some of the row covers I’ve used previously. Going to see if they hold up again in 2017.

  26. Kindle Customer

This fabric works great to keep insects or birds away from vegetables! Plenty of material there to make numerous small tents, or long and wide enough to cover a whole row.

  27. Joshua C.

This has been saving my cucumbers, zucchini, squash, and melons from the curbits hating pickle worm (Diaphania nitidalis). This net is suspended on a pvc pipe skeleton I built just for this purpose. At the time of this review its been 7 months in daily use in powerful florida zone 10 sun, heat, and rain. (No hurricane season yet). I open it every morning, and close it every evening so its still flexible, and still holding strong and keeping out those pesky moths. I will absolutely order again if ever I get a hole or something like that but as of now its one of the best buys I have made in a long long time.

  28. Judith DaBai

The netting has created a safe place for the plants to grow. My vegetables are already flowering and have grown 5 times their size. Watering through the netting is perfect.

  29. Maury Clay

This net is perfect for keeping birds and insects out of my garden. It looks nice and seems durable. Buying another today. My garden is shaped like a U and is raised.

  30. Debbie Mathisen

Nice stuff. Does travel if you are not careful. When I first got it I started to hot glue th edged but than decided to just serve the edges. Worked great. Makeovers to go over my tomato cages.

  31. Dan

Not your typical use case, but for a coworker returning from the birth of his first child, we wanted to enclose his desk in a tower of balloons. This netting did exactly the trick – allowed us plenty of volume with very little weight and was sufficiently transparent to allow good views into the shenanigans. Worked well!

  32. CDC

Great for keeping insects off of sensitive plants.

  33. Audrey18

It did the job but the miner flys got in

  34. J. Mang

This fabric is saving my cauliflower kale and broccoli. Cabbage loopers totally ruined my cauliflower last year. , this year I was determined to not let that happen again. Husband built a cover out of pvc pipe and attached this fabric. Did the trick, no more moths.

  35. Niteowl5

Good product that can handle high winds well

  36. Bill

Works great as a cover for my blueberry bushes. I used zip ties and clothes pins to attach it onto 8′ garden stakes. You have to seal off all the openings, but no birds. Seems to hold up to the UV rays fine so far. Works much better than poly that gets hung up on branches and is hard to manage. Remains to be seen if I can get more than one season on the netting.

  37. Aaron Hultstrand

I am really happy with this product. I used it to cover my raspberry and black raspberry plants in order to keep the birds away from the berries. It was transparent enough to let the sun and rain through so it was perfect for the elements. The biggest reason I got this netting is in the hope that it would not tangle like the plastic-y black netting, and it worked, it doesn’t tangle. I can drape it over the plants with a few stakes holding it up, and I could easily walk under the netting and pick the berries and it wouldn’t catch on the plants.

  38. Alex J. Gilmete

Works very well over my small garden. Keeps the bugs out. The net is very durable.

  39. Chris M.

This worked great for my six broccoli plants. I placed the agfabric over hi-rise metal hoops. Just harvested two broccoli crowns that have no insect damage with four more almost ready!! In the past I’ve tried using floating row covers which are also advertised for insect control. However, they often developed little holes or tears from rubbing against the supporting hoops…then in come the bugs. Very pleased with how durable the netting seems to be so expect to be able to use it for a number of years. Air and rain go right through and plants look very healthy. We’ve had some strong winds and severe t-storms this summer and the hoops and agfabric have held up wonderfully.

  40. Steve Leo

The product works as explained. .but the ends are just cut and not hemmed or glued which leaves a problem with birds legs getting caught in the net while looking for bugs around the bottom ..that’s why 3 stars…other than that the material rips very easy and snags…it’s about the size of fishing strings…..it did keep bugs out and helped with the heat from scorching my grape vines leaves. ..

  41. C.K.

Worked perfectly for netting in my small rear balcony in my apartment, I didn’t even have to cut it, I just rolled up the excess and thumb-tacked everything to the deck wood. Didn’t even have to nail or tape or splice anything. Very pleased.

  42. Arlene Agler

I used this to cover my strawberries this year so the birds would not eat them. It worked! I just wish the ends would have been finished better so it doesn’t travel.

  43. FUSTER

oh man get this stuff if you have had moth/caterpillar issues!!!!!just make sure it is on very tight so the moths have no way of getting inside……

  44. A Person with Reasonable Standards

This is working out very well for us. We have used it with hoops to cover the “cold veggies” (broccoli, cabbage, bib lettuce, etc.) and the sweet potatoes (to keep the deer and ground hogs from eating the leaves). The plants grow like they are not covered at all (as opposed to a ‘floating row cover’), the wind doesn’t affect it and rain readily goes through it. We will probably be expanding our use of it next year for protecting the raspberries, strawberries and blue berries.

  45. MM

Works wonderful. I placed over raised garden beds and it protects all my new vegetable seedlings. After trying every form of pest control with little results, this works by far the best.

  46. rsnewton

Holding up well, easy to work with, a few little snags here and there, cuts well with scissors or box cutter, no unraveling at cut edges after 1-2 months (to include the verge of a hurricane and Southern summer storms), holds some water (less fun to handle, gets heavier and pulls on poles but not badly and not unexpected) but plenty of dew and light rains pass through and drip to plants, no sign of mold or mildew (humid, wet state) – mesh is fine enough to work as preliminary and light frost ag fabric, which was an unexpected bonus.

  47. flosunshine

Good quality netting. Learned the hard way though that these will not prevent whiteflies, they are just too tiny and can still fit through the holes. Should help prevent larger insects though. There are a few loose strings sometimes that catches onto things and can be a bit annoying, but otherwise happy with this.

  48. P.J.

Covered my strawberries the birds was eating up, they were disappointed and I got strawberries that weren’t pecked! Winner!

  49. Zypher10

Works alright. Not big enough to cover row and have enough to hold down on the edges. The edges fray and come apart. There is no edging to prevent unweaving.

  50. JAM

This saved my beets from flea beetles! I watched them hop around on top of the fabric but they couldn’t get in. It was just what I needed to protect my crops without adding any extra heat to the bed. Its a great tulle- like fabric that lets light and moisture in and keeps wee beasties out.

  51. Em

There are a few holes/spots where the fabric weave is loose enough to let bugs in, but pretty darn good for a 10×30 sheet. Hard to stick to anything with less than gorilla tape if that’s your plan; this stuff is slick.

  52. GPinNC

We purchased this netting to keep the vine borers and squash bugs off our squash and zucchini. We used 1/2″ pvc to make hoops over our raised plant bed. Its a challenge to try and make a straight cut on something this large but we managed and it has kept the bugs off for over a month now. We just have to hand pollinate every morning which is actually quite fun. Hopefully this netting will last a few years. Note: If you had vine borers in the same bed last year then their larva is in the soil and using this net will just trap them in there with your plants.

  53. Michael Berry

Works well for my purpose. I covered a recycled dog kennel and planted tomatoes, peppers, and herbs in it. The material allows airflow and keeps the bugs out.

  54. Mamasgottools

Bugs, pests and squirrels are kept out. Soft shade for my lettuce also. Will buy more

  55. Kindle Customer

I am so pleased with the Adfabric mesh cover and so pleased I got it.I’ve got it raised about 3 inches above the garden bed; secured the edgesby pulling and lacing the mesh through my chicken wire mesh fence..this “method” survived the ravages of last night’s heavy thunderstorm.

  56. Mags Dad

Cloth is sturdy and should keep the birds out of my raised bed nicely. I really appreciated the packaging: rolled nicely and in a resealable bag. Made cutting the length I used and storage of remnant quick and painless.

  57. Kate

So far so good. Perfect weight and appears that it is durable. I installed it myself without any issues and have removed it three times for additional planting and to harvest lettuce. It is no trouble to remove myself and then return back into position. Has kept out bugs, rabbits, squirrels and my dog. Very happy with my purchaseUPDATE: I have used the same mesh for several years now and it is just as good as the day I purchased it. I expect it to last for several more seasons. Still very happy with my purchase

  58. L Stowe

Every time I’ve attempted to grow cabbage, kale, and broccoli organically in the past I’ve always had issues with those nasty cabbage moth caterpillars. This product is wonderful, my crops are almost ready to harvest and there are NO signs of them! I used to spend so much time repeatedly applying the organic caterpillar spray, I’m so glad not to have to do that anymore! Only maintenance is trimming the outer leaves so they don’t make contact with the netting (I had read somewhere that the moths can land on it and lay their eggs through it and onto the leaves that touch the netting). Easy! I’m very happy with my gorgeous, healthy brassicas, and I highly recommend this product.

  59. hsmom

This screen worked really well in protecting my young squash and zucchini plants from vine borers. I now have lots of veggies to eat.

  60. John J Cameron

This is the good stuff. I use it to keep insects and varmints off my row crops. No insecticides needed and no forced sharing of my produce!

  61. Lisaac

We intended this for bugs but then ended up using it as a deterrent for stray cats. It doesn’t work for that but was great for draping over to keep the leaves and larger bug pests from getting to our seedlings.

  62. kim hennessey

this will be the first in three years my zucchini will make it through the season without those darn vine boarers ! I should have used this years ago.

  63. Lana Lorenzen

I love this fabric. It’s actually for protecting plants from destructive insects and it does as advertised. However, I’ve found another critical use for it: I use it during the day to shade my plants from the sun. I live in southern Utah where three deserts converge. This is the hottest summer I can remember. On June 2nd of this year it was 151.5 degrees F. in the sun. Plants simply can’t live in temperatures like that, day after day. Though it has cooled down a bit, if one stands in it, the sun is still extremely hot. I drape the netting over the plants on six, 5′ 10″- metal rebar posts. I then use a lawn sprinkler to keep them cool by adjusting the position of the sprinkler so that a light spray of water falls only on the net. I turn the water on every hour for about five minutes from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and it works beautifully. Will purchase two more sections for next springs planting.

  64. justme

Finally something to help keep those white moths (and thus, yukky green cabbage worms) away from destroying my broccoli, cauliflower and kale.

  65. K. Moga

Did not keep the squirrels out of my strawberries.

  66. Kindle Customer

Came as promised. Works as described EXCEPT for ONE DETAIL. When we watered plants, the water slide down sides and except for a few drops did NOT go through fabric. For me, this is not a complete deal breaker since for the most part I’m growing in containers and water just slides down to sides of mostly tires. On rows the water would go to edge of row. I plan to buy more but thought I should mention that as it might be important to someone. It DEFINITELY KEEPS BUGS OFF YOUR CROPS! My kale and chard are going crazy now that the bugs can’t get to themOnly thing is make sure you have edges tucked in good. Bugs seem to love the challenge of finding a spot to get under the cover. I will be buying eithet this item or similar item again.

  67. Lacy

I live on the eastern plains of Colorado. We get horrible wind and hail storms. 3 weeks ago, hail took down my driveway container garden to about half its previous height, killed most of the blooms and ruined many tomatoes. The garden recovered pretty well, just delayed now, but I needed something to protect it. The reviews for this product were mostly for keeping bugs out, but many people said it is a very strong fabric so I wondered if it would protect against a hailstorm. YES IT DID! Last night we had large hail and strong winds, and not a single leaf, blossom or tomato was touched. Also, the fabric is unscathed! I have also noticed that it provides some wind protection. I love this product!

  68. Shirley

Finally able to grow cabbage that is not chewed to shreds by the cabbage worms. Made a frame and connected the fabric to it with snap clamps. Amazing! Gorgeous cabbage and beets not decimated by bugs. Still got a few slugs in there somehow, but the damage was minor compared to before.

  69. Dani Boy Treasures

This netting is wonderful. It saved my cabbage plants. They each weighed in at about 6 pounds and none of them had bugs! The netting is light weight and perfect for allowing the plant to grow under it. Watering is not a problem. It is a nice product for the garden.

  70. DCK

Humane replacement for bird netting, which gets stuck in trees and around snakes. I used clothespins to seal this around a plum tree to keep out the birds and squirrels. Works great without damaging the tree or animals.

  71. Michelle Paquette

Really love this stuff. I use it especially on low tunnels to protect my brassicas from worm damage. It also works well to protect leafy greens from critters and weather. Next year, I will be using it over zucchini and hand-pollinating! Also, similarly to Ag fabric, I believe it does offer a little bit of sun and frost protection. I have also used light Ag fabric, but I prefer this mesh for a few reasons: (1) you can still see the plants, (2) it lets a little more water through (you can water through it with a watering can or hose, and when it rains, the ground actually gets wet), while still protecting from downpours, and perhaps most importantly (3) it does not rip/tear and lasts a lot longer. I am on my third/fourth season using these and they are in near-perfect condition. For winter growing, I use a combination of this mesh layer with thick Ag fabric (which lasts a lot longer than the thin fabric).

  72. rms13137

Found the size and type of mesh netting as described. Good quality but was like throwing a sheet on my tree. Needs to be secured underneath as bugs just went under mesh. I have fig tree about ten feet tall. Could use two mesh covers. Will have to put more effort into this project…

  73. Jill

Small critter of some type managed to stretch small holes in fabric and strawberries were still eaten before I could get to them

  74. ncrph

This is a shiny polyester woven cover-much better than the spun polyester cover I was using. It allows water penetration. I can’t organic garden around here without this protection from cabbage moths etc. Get good supports to keep the center high and it will last several years.

  75. Jan-Marie

I bought this to keep the squirrels out of my tomato plants. They had been pulling the tomatoes off the vine, taking one bite, and leaving it behind. I just wrapped this netting vertically around the plants and secured it with binder clips. Although it looked like I had a ghost in my garden, it did the trick.

  76. Lost in KY

I used this cover my aquatic garden during the fall to prevent the leaves from going into it. It is large enough to provide coverage and overage. It is open enough to let the sunlight and rain water through. The only issue is that the company didn’t heat treat or sew over the edges, so the plastic fibers will start coming apart. I can only imagine after a few seasons, this may not hold up if it keeps coming apart like this.

  77. Jane

I have had absolutely no bug issues since I covered my cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower with the screen. My plants receive water and sunlight and they are thriving! Couldn’t be happier unless I had been able to order the exact size I wanted.

  78. INDYreads67

If you use this to keep insects off your plants this is the product for you.

  79. Carah

Exceeded expectations. I was using agrabon which is good for a year or two. Disadvantags are inability to see through each time you water plants and tearing of product. This product solves both problems. It is sturdy does not tear without cutting intentionally and visibility in excellent.

  80. J. Bush

Good price, you get so much fabric. I used it to cover my strawberry patch, blueberry, raspberry, and pepper plants. Cuts easily, does get pulls/runs easily too, but worked great against bugs and birds.

  81. Kathy Morin

I bought this bc I read that it keeps aphids out. It didn’t keep the aphids out but it did keep the squash bugs and cabbage worms out

  82. SanzCF

These nets have held up so far (3 months in). They have kept the moths off of our greens and protected the garden from the horrible cat that keeps pooping in the garden! I definitely recommend them!

I have been having problem with a bug, or maybe a bird, eating up the leaves on my lychee tree. I tried all insecticides I could find. I was able to get rid of ants, etc, but the leaves continued to degrade. I was so fed up I wrapped the entire tree in this screen, isolating it from whatever was eating it and IT WORKED.I highly recommend it. It’s been a few months and the integrity of the screen is still intact.

The product arrived and was as described. Having just installed it on the frame I built I can’t speak to its actual durablility, but it seems like it will withstand sun and rain while keeping bugs out.

  85. Michelle Marshall

I have used this supported by thin white irrigation water pipe around my raised garden. By securing it everynight to the frame, I have managed to keep the snails at bay. They have managed to feast on my other plants. It has not been damaged by the constant securing. I did as suggested, sew around the sides so that it didn’t fray. Haven’t seen any other bugs, but not having to use any chemicals is very important to me.

  86. Chaya

This large screen was enough for two regular sized raised bed. Now that I have this I should try to grow some cabages. It has been struggle with cabage worms.

  87. Monica C.

I got this to protect my tomato plants from the birds and squirrels. So far, so good. It is flexible enough to sew with thread, but seems durable enough to withstand birds. It is also breathable, so the air can get to the plants and water can pass through. Overall, very happy with the product.

Why on earth would anyone buy this netting without some type of supports to hold it up? It’s like buying a tent without the stakes. Photos SHOWED SUPPORTS for the netting, but nowhere was there a link or a notice that the supports were NOT included with the netting! Bugs seem to be able to crawl under it because it it no fully extended.

  89. LizzyK

Perfectly what I was looking for to protect my garden from HAIL in Colorado. These nets still allow sun and water through but clipped to my hoops I no longer worry about hail destroying my garden.

  90. Jesse Mock

This stuff is the perfect size for my 3&4’ wide beds, keeps the moths off, and holds up amazingly well even though I leave it on all winter to keep the cat out!

  91. cassiopeia

I used this to cover a strawberry bed so that I could eat the strawberries before the squirrels get to them. The bed is irregularly shaped, and I used PVC pipe clamps to hold the netting in place on the 1/2″ boards at the top of the frame. I then trimmed it to size and used my sewing machine to hem the edges to keep it from fraying, but later it occurred to me that it’s nylon – I could probably singe the edges instead. I tried this and it works. After the growing season I’m going to do that on the sides that were cut on the bias, because sewing them made them stretch like fabric would. We have had a few minor hail storms and the netting has held up. There are just a couple of slight tears where I stretched the netting over a rough surface, but after that I figured out just to work with it carefully and haven’t had any additional tearing. So far the wily squirrels have not figured out how to get in.Next summer I’ll be using this on more projects.

I can cover my fruit on my pear tree or use it to cover containers raising monarch caterpillars until they’re ready for their cage.

  93. JA

very helpful in keeping critters out….can be used in many different ways…or easy to cut if you want smaller pieces.

  94. Deby Gadd

Great for protecting vegetable sprouts from rabbits. Light weight so plant can begin growing, sun & rain get thru. Just what I was lookin for. I draped over seeded area and stuck a couple thin pins (actually used upholstery pins) to avoid wind blowing off.

I used this for a few different things, and it worked for some, not as well for others. One thing that it is good for is providing some protection while preventing heat buildup. I found this worked better in summer than even the very lightweight row cover fabric, seemed to provide better ventilation. I did not have issues on my peach tree even with a couple of days of 100F.1. I used to cover a peach tree so that I could get some peaches this year instead of the critters taking them all. Critters include jays, squirrels, and roof rats. Something could still land on the tree on top of the netting and chew into this netting, eat fruit through the holes, and even make a hole large enough to remove an entire peach (not the jays!). Towards the end, I had to wrap the sides of the tree in greenhouse plastic film to keep the critters at bay. And there were enough holes in the netting (2-3 inch diameter holes) that I had to throw it out after one season.2. I also used some of the netting to drape over a frame that covered lettuces. It worked pretty well at keeping the birds and bunnies out of the lettuce, letting winter rains and sun in, and being easier to peel back for harvesting than regular bird netting which tends to catch on everything. The cut ends tend to fray, it stains easily (rust, mud), and develops small holes where the clips clip it to the frame, so not super durable or sturdy. But I would use it again for this purpose, and can reuse it for at least a second winter.3. The best use was as a top for a growing frame (kind of like a cold frame) made out of polycarbonate twinwall panels. The sides are the polycarbonate, and then I clip this netting on as the top. I have been using the polycarbonate sides for several seasons, sometimes with no top (too many bird issues), and other times with summerweight row cover fabric. With the fabric, I had too many issues with bolting because I think it got too hot inside. However, I had great success when I used this netting. Worked well to keep out dirt and insects and birds, but not trap the heat. So, if you are looking for something as a loose cover that won’t trap heat but lets in light, this can work very well. If you want to use it to keep out birds or rodents from fruit trees or bushes, it will only work if you can build a frame to bigger than your tree or bush to hold the netting off, away from the leaves and fruit. In which case, it would be cheaper to build the frame and use bird netting. If you drape it directly over a tree or bush, it will not protect it from anything with a beak or teeth.

Love this product. Perfect to protect plants from insects and other threatening small birds and animals. Great service from this company. Arrived a week earlier than promised delivery date.

  97. KCTeacher

It keeps birds away from berries yet keeps them from getting tangled up because the netting is too fine for them to be caught. I don’t like that it is plastic but it will be useful for many many years and not a one-time-use throw-away item.

  98. MyRenee

Wanted a netting to catch excessive acorns & leaves (especially the small ones). The netting I kept seeing had holes that may be too large. This is perfect! Water can still go thru but will catch all leaves and acorns! Thank you AgFabric!!

  99. Beingkatie

I get a few of these ever couple of years to keep the critters and bugs off of my veggie garden. Very durable and effective!

I don’t know why I want to battle the bugs in my home garden. Why not give in? Grow something else. Well, that first bite of broccoli from the bed is a sublime experience. If I want that I must use this. And it works well. I use it with hoops and garden pins. Easy. But you could probably use without hoops. It is light. But you must anchor the edges carefully. Sun and rain go right through. And now, in January, I am eating broccoli.

This mesh was perfect for my patch of milkweed in my backyard! I raise Monarch butterflies as I live in Florida and they come year round. I grow Giant Milkweed (Calotropis Gigantea) and Tropical Milkweed (Asclepius Tuberosa) and my issue was that the Monarchs would lay too many eggs and I don’t have sufficient enough supply of milkweed for them…they wouldn’t allow for their food to grow…especially since the Giant Milkweed grows slower than the Tropical Milkweed so this mesh allowed me to build a small greenhouse so I can control them from dying because of insufficient supply. The mesh is more of a plastic than material and is lightweight. The amount I ordered was more than enough and was easy to work with…very sturdy. I can water my plants over it although I built access doors. I’m very happy with the quality. Last year I raised around 650 Monarchs…I’m hoping to get to 1000 this year!

  103. Todd Latiolais

Just got this. I cut it in half to drape over two blueberry bushes. Works great. I closed the sides with clothes pins. It is very light and enough air gets through that I don’t think mildew or mold will be an issue. Plus the wind goes through so it doesn’t catch. It does fray a little when cut but I don’t think it will be much. If so I will stitch the sides up to preserve it.

  104. garenchanchanian

This stuff is good, made of a strong plastic material instead of more fabric so it feels a lot more durable. Made a frame around my raised bed and used this to cover the walls. So far so good!

  105. Jack

This let’s you water through it and does not block mutch sun at all. For cooler nights we add frost cloth and we add shade cloth for lettice growing in the sauna band in out yard. First year using this to keep tomato worm etc off. So far so good.

  106. Jayne

I got this to keep the squirrels from digging in my garden every morning. It’s been working just fine. It does trap any flys that are in when you close it up so I open it and shoo them out. It’s a simple long piece of “fabric” and just want I needed. Can still water and get sun.

  107. Tialyn White

I got this for my lettuce beds. It is PERFECT! The insects can’t get through and my lettuce is beautiful! It was not the easiest to cut mainly because there is a lot and it’s durable- So I would recommend having someone help you unfold it and to use material scissors. Regular scissors will work but material would make cleaner cuts.

  108. Fatimeh Phipps

Came on time and was good quality

This fabric absolutely saved my broccoli and cabbage. The cabbage moths have eaten my broccoli and cabbage for years. I just cannot keep up with them! I got this fabric and literally built a room with this stuff. Staking all the walls all around. Will purchase again when this wears out.

  110. Tony Lagana

Does a good job seems to be keeping out the bugs, I don’t know about the birds or not. Covering tomato plants in pots

  111. Amanda Dannaker

I don’t usually write reviews but this bug screen was perfect for my little patio garden !It’s very easy to cut or staple .I think it will help my veggies have a more productive crop this year

  112. JCK

Arrived today, just in time to plant and cover cucumbers to protect against cucumber beetles. Much easier to use than floating row cover, and it seems much more durable. Used clothes pins to secure to the climbing supports and stones and bricks to hold down at the soil.

  113. Ziva

    1st searon. Holding up well.

  114. DjDeb

I bought this to protect my brassicas from cabbage moths/loopers. I didn’t stay diligent with spraying neem oil last year, and my kale and Brussels sprouts had a lot of damage. A lot of fellow gardeners recommended this, so I’m giving it a try. I’ll update as they start growing.

  115. Gail

We are very pleased we found this product to protect our blackberry bushes from both Japanese beetles and hail. It is strong enough to be used over and over.Wish we had found this for many a campsite in black fly season. The 10×30 would cover a lean-to!

  116. Daphne McPherson

Heavier than anticipated, smaller then realized. Great for raised garden bed as Japanese and Cucumber Beetle damage has been at a all time high this year!

  117. rebekahjo

I’m using this on my garden right now and so far it has worked perfectly. No need to remove it to water and my plants are growing by Leaps and Bounds.

  118. E. A. C.

I replaced the screens in my windows as we had a major Knat problem. The mesh is tough, not dark, and was the easiest spline job I have experienced.

  119. Dick Flores

The only reason I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 is because bees can’t get through it to pollinate. Otherwise it is a wonderful product.

  120. Susan Madison WI

No complaints. It is as described.
